Dogs need a job. Most breeds were bred for their working abilities. If you do not at least obedience train your dog, your dog may make up his or her own job. That can include barking, biting, jumping, eating furniture, or other behavior problems. Through training, your dog will become a confident, well-rounded part of your family, offering affection and companionship for dog-years to come.

Dogs work for three things -- Food, fear and praise. Our training methods use positive reinforcement (praise) for the best, most consistent results. Food can be used for tricks only.

Of course, many of us have had a dog in our lives that seemed to need minimal training; he just was a great dog. Well, we were lucky! Most dogs become great companions only through training. Considering the amount of time you will be spending with your new family member, why not train your dog? The rewards will come in the form of a much happier companion, confident and loyal.
